the short answers. the full rules are in the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy.
the room
what is the sealed room?
a course for people who keep starting over. the membership opens the stairs: lessons one at a time, the keeper (an ai you can talk to), your folder, and new lessons as they come out.
is it therapy?
no. it is self-improvement material. it is not medical or mental-health advice. if you are struggling, talk to someone you trust or a professional. in canada and the us you can call or text 988.
who is it for?
people who keep starting over and want to stop. to buy, you need to be 18, or younger with a parent or guardian's permission and a payment method you are allowed to use.
paying
how much is it?
the first 15 members pay $12 a month, and keep that price for as long as they stay. after that it is $19 a month.
how do i cancel?
from your account, under "billing, receipts & cancelling". it takes a couple of clicks and you are never charged again. you keep access until the end of the month you already paid for.
can i get a refund?
yes, for your first payment. email us within 7 days of the first charge and you get it all back. renewals after that are not refunded, but you can cancel any time. the details are in the Refund Policy.
is my card safe?
your card goes straight to stripe, the payment company. we never see or store the number.
the keeper
what is the keeper?
an ai that has read what you wrote on your stairs and talks to you about it. it is direct on purpose, and it won’t leave you stuck there. it is not a person, a therapist or a doctor, and it can be wrong. it may not be right for some people under 18. it is for members.
who can read what i say to it?
you, in your account. your chats and the short list of things it remembers about you are saved to your account, so it can pick up where you left off. nobody at the sealed room reads them. each message goes to anthropic, the company that makes the ai, only to write the reply. you can delete any chat, or anything it remembers, whenever you want, and all of it goes when you delete your account.
what if i tell it i want to hurt myself?
if you say you’re going to hurt yourself, it stops coaching and tells you where to get help from a real person that night: call or text 988 in canada or the us, or your local emergency number. a bad day isn’t that, and it won’t treat it that way. if you are in danger right now, don’t wait for an ai. call.
how many messages do i get?
members get a set number of messages a day, enough for real use. when you reach it, the keeper tells you, and it opens again the next day.
your data and your key
what do you collect?
no ads, and no tracking across other sites. if you tap ok, one anonymous counter shows us where people leave a page. outside the eu, the uk, switzerland and quebec, we also count that the front page or the links page was opened, with a one-time number that is never saved on your device or linked to you. in those places nothing is counted unless you tap ok. adding ?notrack=1 to any address turns all of it off in that browser. everything is listed in What We Keep.
i lost my key (password).
go to sign in and press "lost your key?". a way back in goes to your email.
how do i delete my account?
from your account page, at the bottom. it cancels any membership and deletes what we hold about you.
